MIDVALE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A Taylorsville man is in critical condition Thursday evening, after being hit by a TRAX train.

UTA spokesman Gerry Carpenter says it happened around 5:00 p.m. at the Midvale Fort Union Station on 7200 South and 235 West.

Midvale police say 24-year old Mitchall Wilkey was listening to his headphones on the platform, and accidentally walked in front of the train.

Police say Wilkey was thrown 10 feet into a fence and suffered serious head trauma and is not expected to survive. This is the second accident involving headphones this year. according to police.
