SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Two men were charged for kidnapping a woman and taking her to the Salt Flats in July.

According to a charging document, Mark Devone Leavitt and Robert Kent Thompson visited a woman's home in Salt Lake County on July 16, 2009. A probable cause statement included in the charging document says both men knew the alleged victim and visited her on July 16th.

According to the document, Thompson knocked on the door of the alleged victim and Leavitt entered the home and forced her into a waiting car driven by Thompson.

Leavitt then threatened the woman with a knife to her throat as Thompson drove the trio to the Salt Flats in Utah's west desert, according to the document.

The statement also says that once the trio arrived at the Salt Flats, the woman was forced to get out of the vehicle, when she fell into a ditch.

Leavitt then allegedly cut off some of the alleged victim's hair, using the knife, and told her it was her second chance and that she should never tell anyone about the incident, according to the statement.

Leavitt and Thompson were charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated burglary.
