A rash of home break-ins in Eagle Mountain leads to a shocking and disturbing discovery. A family found that their home wasn't just robbed, but also vandalized in a way that will make you sick.
The past 24 hours have been emotionally draining for Staci Butler.
"I just felt very hurt I felt very violated," Butler said.
Tuesday thieves broke into her home but instead of just taking what they were after they trashed everything. The most disturbing, most despicable act is what they did to her 13-year-old daughter's room.
"They had urinated all over her bed and left feces on her bed just basically trashed her whole bed," she said.
It's been traumatizing for the teen.
"She slept with us last night my five-year-old slept with us she hasn't even touched the mess she doesn't want to go in there," Butler said.
Staci doesn't know if her daughter will ever sleep in her room again. If that weren't enough, the thieves trashed several other rooms. They carved crude words into things, put trash into their toilet, then sprayed a blue silicone all over the house. They also stole some of the family's Christmas presents, and what they didn't take they ruined.
"You know they took a lot from us not just things they took a part of our safety away," Staci said.
Police tell us there have been for burglaries in the last few days right now they don't know if the break-ins are related. It's unsettling for neighbors.
"I don't want to have to worry when I leave the house if something could happen someone could break in," said one neighbor.
That fear resonates throughout Eagle Mountain right now. But for Staci Butler it's not just a fear it's become part of her reality.
"Now we are all paranoid we are all worried about what we are going to do."
