I am so glad to hear that. I really expected the worst for Kasey and having seen him get hit I really do think it is a miracle that he does not have more permanant damage. Are you able to explain any of his other injuries? We are keeping him and his family in our prayers.

I went to see Kasey during lunch. He had surgery on his knee today. His knee will take a bit of time to heal, and he'll need another surgery on it in several weeks. The doctors are keeping tabs on his other injuries, but they aren't worried about any permanent damage last I heard. Thank you all for your prayers and concern. -Steve (Kasey's uncle)

I came up on this accident a minute after it happened. I feel terrible for all involved. My son also goes to school with Kasey. We are all praying for Kasey, Kasey's family and the driver - everyone involved. I hope that he has a speedy recovery and does fabulous. He has been on my mind all night.

I witnessed the accident happen. Kasey was crossing 12600 South on 1300 West on the West side of the cross walk. The 3 teens crossed when the light turned green for East/West bound traffic and turned red for them. Noticing that cars were coming, the teenagers bolted across the intersection when an oncomming car struck Kacey going around 40 mph. He is lucky to be alive. When I stopped my car to check on him I fully expected him to be unconcious, but his eyes were open and he was able to move his arms and head. Fortunately there was an EMT and trauma nurse (off duty) that witnessed the accident to help stabilize him. My wife and I have not been able to stop thinking about it all night and morning.

This teenagers name Is Kasey and he is my nephew. This could have been much worse and our hearts go out to the driver of the car and his friends who witnessed this tragedy. At this time, the extent of his injuries are still being determined but he are hoping that a full recovery will be the end result.
