BOUNTIFUL, Utah. (ABC 4 News)- A recreational league soccer coach from Bountiful was arrested Wednesday, on charges of sexual abuse with a minor.

41-year-old Steve Dale Green was booked into the Davis County Jail for charges of forcible sexual abuse, sodomy of a child, rape of a child, sexual abuse of a child, rape and forcible sodomy.

The victim met Green in 2007 when he was her soccer coach. In an affidavit, the victim said she became close with Green’s family and went to their home on a regular basis. She told police that her sexual relationship with Green began back in 2008, when she was only 13-years-old, after he made advances on her. The victim is now 17.

Investigators said that the sexual activity occurred at Green’s home in Bountiful on an almost daily basis. The relationship soon progressed from touching, to intercourse and lasted until 2011.

As the girl grew older and as she developed an interest in boys her own age, the relationship ended, said Bountiful Police Lt. Gary Coehn. The victim then confided in a relative about what had allegedly happened between her and Green. The relative then contacted police.

Lt. Coehn said that police are unaware of any other possible victims. Green has declined to be interviewed by police. He requested an attorney at the time of his arrest.
