EDEN, Utah (ABC4 News) - A thin blanket of snow is covering Eden and is expected to get thicker by Wednesday morning.
"It's snowing!" Andy Newton, an Eden resident, said. "We're excited."
The resort town is one of a few mountain areas seeing the first snow of the season. Most people are looking forward to skiing.
“Thirty-two more days until Snow Basin opens,” Becky Parson, another Eden resident, said.
Even the smallest amount of white powder has folks eager to hit the slopes and people are prepping for more snow.
“We’re getting our snow tires out, I got the shovels out, warming up the snow shovel handles,” Newton said. “It’s always hard this time of year when summer is finishing up.”
Nanci Lifer and her daughter Reece were caught off guard.
“We’ve got shovels and a snow blower, but they’re all just packed away,” Lifer said. “It’s October!”
The snow may be early, but people hope it’s a sign of a better winter season than last.
“We’re in a drought so hopefully this will bring us some more snow and rain,” Lifer added.
Folks said if they did not love the snow, they wouldn’t live here.
“We’re used to this so it’s just kind of part of living in the valley,” Parson said.
