Skier dies after hitting tree at Park City Mountain Resort

Park City, Utah (ABC 4 News)- a 67 year old man from New Jersey died after hitting a tree while skiing at a Park City Resort.

The accident took place on the Silver King ski run at Park City Mountain Resort Monday just before noon.  The man has not been identified yet. 

According to a police report filed at the Park City Police Department his friend, an eye witness, said he left the groomed trail and went into a group of trees.  The man collided with one of those tree and was taken down to the base where a medical helicopter was waiting for him. 

Doctors at the resort pronounced the man dead at the base of the resort.
