RIVERTON, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Students at Riverton Elementary School were honored on Monday for helping to save a burned bald eagle.

Wildlife officials say the bird was badly burned in the Dump Fire near Saratoga Springs in June.

The students raised money for the eagle named "Phoenix" for its rehabilitation.

Wildlife volunteers say the kids even made a scrap book documenting the eagle's recovery.

Because of their efforts, the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Northern Utah honored the kids with a party.
