Power outages plague Wasatch Front

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Thousands of residents and businesses were without power across the Wasatch Front Thursday afternoon and evening.

Several outages affected different cities, from Weber to Salt Lake Counties.

A Rocky Mountain Power spokesman said they were aware of the situation and were trying to figure out the cause.

In the Roy/Clinton area, 6,000 customers without power, while in the nearby Syracuse/Clearfield area 4,000 homes and businesses were blacked out.

In Salt Lake city and Midvale, more than 2,100 homes and businesses were without power.

Salt Lake Community College canceled classes at their Highland Drive campus in Millcreek area.
