SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah (ABC 4 News) --Police are looking for the man who allegedly tried to abduct a young girl on her way to school.

A group of four children, between the ages of seven and 12, were walking to school near the area of 2685 South Main Street, Monday morning.

As the children were walking north on Main Street, a man was walking south towards the children.

One of the children walked past the man. When the other three children were next to the man he reached out and grabbed one of the girls, 7 years old, by the shoulder and started to pull her behind a business.

An approaching police car caught the suspect's attention and he released the young girl and continued walking south on Main Street.

The suspect was described as a male, 20-40 years old. He has a dark complexion, possibly Hispanic, between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall, weighing around 180 pounds, medium build, and scruffy facial hair. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded coat with the hood up, dark pants, black boots, and a black backpack. His clothing appeared to be dirty.

Police are looking for the male suspect. If you know who this person is/or have any information regarding this incident; please contact South Salt Lake Police Dispatch at 801-840-4000.

This child abduction is instantly increasing and it's alarming for parents because we don't know when this going to happen? That's why I provided my children this application I found out in the market it's called the Panic Button Application. The service is awesome and very reliable during emergency situations. When subscriber's are in need of help, by just pressing the panic button subscriber can ask immediate help from family members, friends and trusted persons and to the nearest 911 in where the subscriber is located.
