SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Officers involved in a DUI traffic stop early Saturday morning found themselves in the middle of a DUI related crash.

Salt Lake Police are reporting that two officers had pulled over a suspected DUI driver near 820 south 1300 east just after 2 a.m. Saturday. Both officers had their vehicles parked off to the side of the road and were out of their vehicles when another suspected DUI driver crashed into the back of one of their vehicles, pushing it forward into the other parked patrol car.

Officials say one of the officers was standing between the two patrol vehicles at the time of the crash. He sustained minor injuries to his leg.

Both drivers were booked for DUIs. Officers reported the patrol vehicle which was initially struck was completely totaled, and that the other patrol car was drivable.
