OREM, Utah (ABC 4 News) - The 'Heart To Home' Foundation is taking action to help a very special little girl in Orem.
Presley Gleason, 2, got RSV last winter. The respiratory illness along with a neuromuscular condition means she's hooked up to a lot of medical equipment incuding a ventilator and breathing tube. Her parents have to give her numerous treatments every day. And, because they live in a split-level home, they have to carry Presley and all her medical equipment up and down the stairs.
But, later this month that all will change. "They just surprised us to tell us that they are going to remodel our home so we have living space on the main floor for our daughter who is in a wheelchair," says Presley's mom Mindy Gleason. She says the family feels blessed that 'Heart To Home' volunteers are willing to help.
The work is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 27th and the goal is to have it completed the following Friday, October 1st.
