GRANTSVILLE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Police say a three-year-old girl who was hit by a car Wednesday night in Grantsville is doing better than expected Thursday. Neighbors worry about the dangers of the intersection.
The girl was crossing the street with two of her cousins at Willow on Main Street. A 19-year-old driver saw the first two girls, but not the three-year-old. As of Thursday, police were not releasing the toddler's name and had not filed any charges against the driver.
People living near that intersection say this isn't the first time someone has been hit and they want the city to do something about it.
Jason Culley's own son was hit at that intersection. He told ABC 4, "Nobody stops, it just is not safe for any of us."
There are cross walk signs and orange flags at both ends of the intersection. During the school year, there is a crossing guard helping people cross the busy street, but during the summer and after school, neighbors say they have a problem.
Jenny Cordova said, "Kids are crossing all the time and it's not safe."
Grantsville City Police Department told ABC 4 that besides the accident last night, there have been no other issues reported at the intersection of Willow and Main Street.
