SEVIER COUNTY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - The Sevier County sheriffs office is asking the public to help locate a suspect known as the “mountain man” who they say is responsible for multiple burglaries.

Police have identified the suspect as 44-year-old Troy Knapp, who has recently been spotted in the Sevenmile and UM Creek area near Fish Lake.

Knapp is suspected of being involved in dozens of cabin burglaries, while evading capture by hiding out in the wilderness. The ex-con has been formally charged with two cabin burglaries in Kane County, plus a weapons violation.

Sheriffs warn that Knapp is armed. If anyone sees him, or one of his campsites, do not approach him and call police immediately.

It would be nice if this jerk could just go deep into the wilderness and break a leg!

How about we just say, "WANTED, Dead or Alive". If people want to live in a Wild West fantasy, then go after them Wild West style. Round up a posse, and go hunting for fugitives!!
