SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) – Wednesday night when Ann Romney walked out onto the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, apparently some people were more concerned about her hemline than what she had to say.

Looking at photos from Ann’s appearance on the show, Mormon blog sites blew up accusing Ann of not wearing her temple garments, something all LDS people are expected to do who've been through the temple.

One writer on lds.net commented - "The first thing I noticed was there was no way she was wearing garments." Others said "In this picture, it's clear she's not, or that she's pushed up the sleeves." And – "Is it possible Ann is tall enough that they would not have shown when she sat down?"

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints doesn't like to talk about garments, they consider them sacred. But for people who wear temple garments it's common knowledge that the bottom part is supposed to come down to about the knee.

Ann's skirt was questionably close, and many web writers came to her defense. On jezebel.com one person commented "I'm a Mormon, I wear temple garments, and I'm having a hard time seeing why it would be assumed that Ann isn't wearing them." Another wrote "She's probably wearing garments. Garments tend to ride up a little bit. The skirt probably just barely covers her garments."

ABC 4’s Brian Carlson went to Temple Square to see what LDS people in Utah thought.

"Do you think Ann is wearing her garments?” Carlson asked.

“Yah," said Pamela Baumeister, endowed LDS Church member.

"I think so," said Andrew Barrus, newly endowed LDS Church member.

"It's possible. I can't tell from here," said Rob Barrus, endowed LDS Church member.

"It's an inappropriate question," said Pam Hunsaker, endowed LDS Church member.

"Do you think it's weird question we're asking?” Carlson asked.

“I think it's a weird question,” said Jared Johnsen, endowed LDS Church member.

Many people Carlson talked to said, whether she is or isn't, it's something between Ann and God.

"I think it's her personal opinion," said Johnsen.

"It's part of the covenants that we make," said Carl Baumeister, endowed LDS Church member.

"And if you decide to do it or not to do it, it's nobody else's business," said Pamela Baumeister.

Regardless of what Ann Romney was wearing, it didn't damper her appearance on the show.

That issue is small potatoes compared to another Mormon issue with the Romneys. In one of those "let's get personal" interviews to show the Romneys are just like us, Mitt said he "loves" Snooki of "Jersey Shore." And Ann said she found Snooki "very lively." Give me a break! No devout Mormons--as the Romneys claim to be--would even *watch* a trashy show like "Jersey Shore," much less "love" one of the trashiest characters in it. The show goes against every Mormon standard. So what gives, Romneys? Maybe we should wind Mitt and Ann up again and see what comes out this time.

Mormonism, has been lying to the world, Joseph Smith used lies to cut in for the girls. His bed of lies with brimstone suffer glow, Total torment wherever he goes. Mormonism, carry's lies for me and you, Lies cut up God's Holy Word thru and thru. True Christians follow not this whore scam, To endless sorrow like Smith in Satan's hand. Mormon, what good do you think you do? You want me to follow lies the same as you. This counterfeiting evil your smiles are cold You will never be god no matter what lies you're told. Mormonism, how you teach with hidden lust, May your temple fall and return to the dust. May all people see your lies of no good. that all the world forget you ever stood, Mormonism, You worthless cemetery!

What someone is or isn't wearing is none of our business. Depending on leg length and body type things fit differently on each person, especially when sitting down. Unless this pertains to your personal eternal salvation it is not worthy of discussion. It is definitely inappropriate to discuss on a blog. Wow!

To the person in the story who blogged "there was no way she was wearing garments": you must be short. I'm a little bit taller than 5'8" and have only found one pair of 'tall' sized garments that go past my mid-thigh. (Yes, you read that right. Only one kind of TALL garments covers more than half of my upper leg.) If you are tall and thin, that's the name of the game. That aside, this whole conversation is absurd and ridiculous. It is no one's business.

If you are a Mormon and you are judging her, maybe you should look into the mirror.

I wish people would attend to their own lifes. She is a beautiful women who is dressed very appropiate. Im expressing the way I see this because so many only want to point out the negative. Don't throw the first stone till you do a check list of your own life.

Really? Is this the bet story you can come up with? Who cares if she is wearing garments or not?

I'm a temple-going Latter-day Saint. I'm also a Democrat who desperately wants to see President Obama re-elected. Here's my take: Leave it alone. If Ann Romney pinned or altered her garments - which is by no means certain from the video - that is nobody's business but hers and God's. Her outfit looks modest to me, as if it's my place to judge. As we tell our members in recommend interviews (I always make them read it aloud to me), this sacred covenant is between the member and the Lord and the proper wearing of the garment is an outward expression of an inner desire to follow the Savior Jesus Christ. To the amateur Pharisees in the blogosphere I say again: Leave it alone.

She looks better than nearly every female I soo on TV as well as on the street. Her butt was covered and her boobs were not hanging out or showing through. All the major news stations dress the female weather reporters in dresses so tight they bunch up top to bottom and perch the female reporters on stools out in the middle of nowhere to show off legs. This is blatant sexism, I hardly see how an educated professional journalist would agree to, but they do. Now we have news stations commenting on a well dressed person, not even on their payroll, because she is not wearing pantaloons and Union suits under a perfectly acceptable and well fitting shirt and blouse.
