SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The family of a 30-year-old Sandy mother who was struck by a car while trying to retrieve a bicycle says the woman's fate "is in the Lord's hands."
Family members say Jennifer Strong is in critical condition with a severe brain injury and multiple fractures after the accident Monday afternoon.
Authorities say Strong and her family were in a pickup truck on Interstate 80 in Parleys Canyon when they hit a bump and a bicycle fell out of their vehicle. Troopers say Strong had picked up the bike and was heading back to the truck when she was struck by another vehicle.
Strong's family issued a statement Wednesday thanking doctors and emergency responders for their help saving her life.
Strong has four children between the ages of 1 and 8.
