Man with gun puts elementary school on partial lockdown

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Around 8 a.m. Friday morning, a call was made to Salt Lake Police about a male threatening two other men with a gun, trying to take property from them.

According to Salt Lake Police, once they arrived on scene, they chased the suspect and struggled with him in an attempt to obtain his weapon, but the suspect got away with the gun.

As a precaution, Emerson Elementary school, a school in the area, was placed on a partial lock down. Police have reopened the streets and believe there is no longer any danger in the area, but are asking for the public's help in apprehending the suspect.

At 5 p.m. Friday, Salt Lake Police located the suspect and took him into custody.
