PLEASANT GROVE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Pleasant Grove.
Witnesses say they heard multiple guns shots from a field near a townhome at 1550 West 1100 North in Pleasant Grove. Shortly after, witenesses saw a man wearing an orange shirt running from the scene.
About 4 blocks away, witnesses told police they saw a man in an orange shirt running near a medical clinic in American Fork. Police recovered a .45 caliber pistol from the hood of a car at the clinic. They believe the gun is the murder weapon.
Police say the victim was declared dead on arrival at an American Fork hospital after suffering more than four shots to the abdomen.
Police caught the suspect a few blocks from the medical clinic in American Fork and arrested him. Police say the suspect, a man in his mid-20s, was uncooperative during questioning.
Three schools in the area were placed on partial lockdown during the preliminary investigation.
