WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Hundreds of teachers and school employees will head to the Maverik Center for a free concealed carry class as well as mass violence response training.

OPSGEAR and the Utah Shooting Sports Council are putting on the event to help all school employees better protect both themselves and their students.

The groups put together the training in response to the recent tragedy in Newtown, CT that left 26 dead after a shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Through the training, the teachers will learn how to deal with any case of mass violence that may present itself.

so...what you are saying is, you would rather take a chance on one person possibly getting injured or killed than kids being more vulnerable to a mass shooting, and 27 or MORE people dead...????

I personally would pull my child out of school if I knew a teacher was packing. Too many accidents happen with CCP holders when the set their gun down "just for a moment".
