DRAPER, Utah (ABC 4 News) – Family and friends said their final goodbyes Saturday to a Juan Diego High School student who died.
Those who knew and loved Adam Colosimo are having a tough time saying goodbye.
“It’s an emotional rollercoaster,” said Brendon Kempin, Adam’s friend.
“Everyone has a hole in their heart right now, it can’t be replaced,” said Julia Colosimo, Adam’s cousin.
Saturday morning his family, friends, and hundreds of others from Juan Diego High School gathered at his funeral to pay their last respects.
“I’ve only been here for one year and imagining what some of the people that have known him since Kindergarten and preschool it’s really hard to imagine what they’re going through,” said Ben Hamel, Adam’s friend.
Adam was electrocuted climbing a ladder at a building in Draper. Then during treatment under intensive care, he died from a blood clot to the heart.
Adam was only 16 years old. He played basketball and football. His family and friends describe Adam as kind and nurturing. To some he was their angel when they needed him most.
“He’d always say Hi and ask me how my day was going and he actually cared and listened,” said Hamel.
“He just had this calm demeanor that if you were angry you could go and talk to him and he’d calm you way down and by the end of the conversation we’d be laughing hysterically,” said Julia Colosimo.
To many Adam was their inspiration.
“He pushed me to do my best in school and athletics and he made me a better person,” said Dominic Colosimo.
“I’m going to try and live my life like he would, just because he’s the greatest kid. I’m going to consciously think of him before I make any decisions,” said Kempin.
