HERRIMAN, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A 9 year-old girl is gaining national attention for dominating the football field.

Sam Gordon plays for the Gremlin League in Herriman and her impressive playing was featured on ABC's Good Morning America Thursday.

On Monday night Sam's dad uploaded a compilation of her highlights on Youtube. By the next morning nearly half a million people had viewed it. Sam's stats would impress any pro: 35 touchdowns, 2,000 rushing yards, 65 tackles.

Sam says she fell in love with the sport last year while watching BYU games with her dad.

No this is not media bias. There are stories about prodigal young male players all the time. It just so happens that the exciting young player in Utah right now is female. She also has some pretty impressive stats this year.

oh wait. What's this? The Media is giving special attention to a girl? Is this really supposed to be something new? Every time a girl jumps higher, skips faster, or wins a 3-legged race, it makes national headlines. When I was a Senior, a girl joined the Football team, and it made every national headline. It even became a top story from The BBC. Is this media bias? Nahhhh.
