So pray tell us, Scott, at what level of education did YOU attain the knowledge to spell the word "Journolism"? Just wondering. :)

Dear Miss Kim Johnson, Your job as a news reporter is to report news in an un biased fashion. your comment, "Congress needs to pass an assault weapon and magazine ban", is both your opinion and very bad journolism. Do not tell me the reader of your blog, Trash, what I or Congress must do. P.S. for someone who has a college degree, you write like most 2nd graders. Incomplete sentences and mis spelled words abound in your writing.

The news media and the people of this country would do well to ponder the fact that there is more at stake with gun control than the second amendment, because once we allow that, then what restrictions will befall the first amendment or others? Will the freedom of the press, speech, religion or another be next? Hitler took away rights claiming that internal problems were the cause and look where that went! The Japanese did not and would not invade this country because they felt behind every bush and tree would be a citizen with a gun! If gun control worked then why are Chicago and Washington DC with the toughest gun laws also have the highest murder rates and rising! But those places with will issue concealed carry laws are down and going down? We as a country have sent military personal all over the world to insure our freedom and that of others at the cost of the lives of many of our countrymen. For us to let our Government infringe on or limit any freedom we have and hold would be immoral and would soil what those that have given their lives for in support of freedom. We must fight to keep our freedoms! I would rather die living free than in fear of my Government! the police investigate crimes to catch those that committed them they can’t stop them. We must protect our families and ourselves.

Dear Mr. Smith, I live in West Valley City. If I call the police in an emergency, say an armed madman has just broken into my house and is running through my house looking for me or my family. Mr. Smith, by the time an officer gets to my house. He will have to call in for the Detectives and the Coroner. I will be dead. If I don't have a fully loaded firearm, preferably an AR-15 ( with a 16" bayonet attached and a C MAG) to run straight at him and scare the bejesus out of him, he will, not might kill me dead before the police arive. What Mr. Smith I am suposed to flash my flashlight in his eyes and hope I can get my family to safety. Stay away from me Mr. Smith!!!!!!!!!!

While this story typifies the prevailing mindset since the Sandy Hook school massacre, it misses the underlying cause: America doesn't have a gun-control problem; America has a prescription drug problem. I can say that with some degree of confidence after reading one of the most comprehensive reports I've come across on that subject to date and the research is riveting. Written by award-winning journalist, David Kupelian, his published report can be freely accessed at the link below (trusting that ABC4 News will allow me to post it). It is well worth taking the time to review and consider: http://mobile.wnd.com/2013/01/the-giant-gaping-hole-in-sandy-hook-reporting/#gKTVUYpXKsaXkKt1.99
