'Good Samaritan' woman dies after being hit by UTA bus

MURRAY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - The woman who was hit by a UTA bus while rushing to the aid of a scooter crash victim has passed away.

Murray police say 26-year-old Alie Cole Hostetter witnessed a woman who crashed on her scooter after bing cut off by an eastbound vehicle on 4500 South on Wednesday.

Police say Hostetter saw the crash and rushed to assist the scooter driver when she stepped in front of a westbound UTA bus.

Police say Hostetter was taken to Intermountain Medical Center in critical condition, while the scooter operator was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Hostetter passed away Thursday morning.
