SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - A family is outraged that a judge handed out a five day jail sentence to a man who ran over their daughter.
This week Michael Sleeter was ordered to spend five days in jail for his role in the deaths of two pedestrians that he ran over.

It all began last March. Erica Warneke and her friend Andrea fuguel were attempting to cross Redwood Road late at night.
They were not in the crosswalk when they were struck by Sleeter's vehicle.

"When someone on meth runs over two women and kills them you would think something would be taken care of," says Warneke's father Chuck Moore.
But in the eyes of Moore, justice wasn't served.

Sleeter who was behind the wheel was sentenced to five days in jail for that tragic accident.

Police say he passed a field sobriety test but found traces of illegal drugs in his system.

"There was a presence of a contolled substance as a metabolite but not in any sense an impairment at that time not in any sense that would constitute what we would call someone out of control," says Salt Lake District Attorney Sim Gill.

Gill says his team couldn't prove that Sleeter ingested the illegal substance that day. He says the drug can last several days in the system.

You got to be kidding me, that's the way I feel," says Moore. "There is hard evidence."

What bothers Moore even more is the failure by prosecutors to notify them about Sleeter's sentencing.

:Do I feel betrayed, you bet," says Moore.
