PROVO, Utah (ABC 4 Sports) - BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall said the Cougars would continue to rotate quarterbacks Riley Nelson and Jake Heaps this Saturday at Air Force.

"I would say that as of this minute that the press conference is going on that you'll see the exact same this Saturday," Mendenhall said. "We reserve the right, certainly, during the game to shift the reps one way or the other based on how either quarterback is playing."

Against Washington, both Heaps and Nelson threw for exactly 131 yards. Nelson did throw two touchdown passes, while Heaps led the Cougars to two field goals. But Mendenhall was impressed with both players performances.

"I was happy for both of them that they were able to perform that well in their opener," said Mendenhall. "They made really good decisions with the football with no turnovers. I think both were able to show and highlight what their strengths are. That makes us difficult to defend.

"Defensively now, you have to prepare for an excellent thrower and our normal run game. Then with Riley, not only do you have to prepare for not only a good thrower but also a quarterback run game as well."

The Cougars will take their two-quarterback system into Colorado Springs Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff.
