www.facebook.com/CuteGirlsHairstylesMindy's website started in October 2008 as a hobby, a place to keep her hairstyles so that she could remember them. Since then, the Adopt a 'Do - Cute Girls Hairstyles website and its YouTube channel have grown to over 3.5 million views monthly, helping thousands of moms worldwide to simplify their mornings, while creating a wonderful bond with their daughters. Their girls, too, find an improved self-esteem as they receive compliments all day long for their cute hairstyles! Moms enjoy the compliments too, as other moms think that they spent 20-30 minutes on the gorgeous style... all the while knowing it took only five!
Last week, YouTube nominated Mindy's channel as one of its rising star finalists, along with three other channels, for its May 2011 "OnTheRise" award program. On May 27th, the winner will be featured on YouTube's homepage, its video pages, along with being highlighted on its Facebook page (33 million followers) and Twitter.
Voting is very close, and ends tonight, Wednesday May 18, 2011 at 7pm MST! It is not enough to simply cast your vote, tell others to do so as well! You can cast your vote on YouTube's blog for "CuteGirlsHairstyles" at the following link (vote box in top right corner, no registration required)

Here are the instructions to the hairstyles Mindy shared with Good Things Utah:
Loony Braids
This is a fun braided hairstyle that will certainly be noticed! It uses the same braiding technique you normally would, however you are braiding with two tiny strands and one much larger one. It creates a serpentine shape that gives it a fun look. Prepare for compliments!Items Needed: Spray bottle, rat-tail comb, 2 hairbands, accessories (as desired).
Time Requirement: 5-8 Minutes
1. Wet hair down, just to help control any fly-aways.
2. Part the hair to a side (your preference) until you reach the crown. Then part the rest of the hair directly down the back of the head.
3. Comb back and gather the hair on one side in preparation for the braid.
4. Separate off two tiny sections of hair, so that you have two small strands and one large strand with which to braid. (It is important that the two small strands be much much smaller than the large one.)
5. Proceed to braid the three strands as you normally would.
6. From time to time, reach up with one hand and gently tug out the large strand's elbows, to create the "loony" aspect of the braid. Helps the braid pop out!
7. Continue all the way down the braid in the same fashion.
8. Secure the braid with a hairband.
9. Repeat on other side.
10. Accessorize as desired (cute hat, bows, clips, etc.)
Side Ponytail ComboThis is a great summer hairstyle that is perfect for when you are at the beach or pool, and need something quick, but cute, to do with your hair. The style incorporates a side ponytail, a hair wrap, and a 3 inch Fishtail Braid, finished off into a regular ponytail. You can even wear this style with a cute summer hat! Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, 2 elastic hairbands, hairspray and accessories (if desired).
Time Requirement: 5-8 Minutes
1. Part hair on either side, with your rat-tail comb.
2. Gather the hair together into a gentle side ponytail. Secure the loose ponytail with a hairband.
3. Pull out a small strand of hair that will wrap all the way around the hairband a few times, then slip the end of the hair through one of the strands of the secured elastic and spread the hair to cover the entire hairband.
4. Separate the ponytail into two sections, then bring around a small strand of hair from the back of the large strand on the right and combine it under the large strand on the right.
5. Then, bring around a small strand of hair from the large section on the left and combine it behind the large strand on the right.
6. Complete steps 4 &5 until the braid is about three inches long... thus creating a herringbone shape to the braid.
7. After the you have braided for 3 inches, secure with the remaining elastic hairband.
8. If desired, you can do another hair wrap her by selecting a tiny strand of hair and wrapping it around the hairband as you did in step 3.
9. Let the rest of the ponytail hang over the shoulder.
Simple Twist PullbackHere is a super cute and simple way to keep your bangs out of your eyes, and it takes literally 1 minute to complete! It is not a French Twist, as it involves the simple twisting of two strands into a tiny rope braid and pinning it behind your ear with two crossed bobby pins. Enjoy! Items Needed: Rat-tail comb, 2 bobby pins, and hairspray.
Time Requirement: 1-2 minutes
1. Part hair on either side, with your rat-tail comb.
2. Section out the front section of hair along the forehead, maybe 1 1/2 inches back.
3. Divide the section of hair out into two even sections.
4. Begin twisting the two strands of hair together, away from the forehead towards the back of the head.
5. When you reach the end of the strand, you can gently pull it behind your ear and pin it there with crossed bobby pins, or for a much more subtle look, lift up a 3 inch section of hair on the back corner of your head and pin the twisted strand underneath.
6. Then let the hair fall down covering the end of the twist strand and bobby pins.
