Also,The State of Utah is some what treating Eric as a Criminal....They will not let Eric go back to His Home State of California,All because of a State Appointed Attorney that is Blocking the Lawsuit at which Justice need's to be served for this Young Man...Changes need to be made so that other innocent people don't end up like Eric... I only met Eric over the telephone Back in September. He had paid for my daughter to ride the train from Modesto to Elko For a long weekend Together. And he took her of all places to Salt Lake City. They had a wonderful time. they had even made plans to go to Atlanta sometime before Christmas. My daughter and Eric has been friends since b4 high school. Eric and I only spoke twice but the conversation flowed between us us. He is a great son brother cousin and man. At the age of 22 he is already where he wanted to be in his life. he has a great job/ career and is supporting his siblings. others are depending on Eric and he was happy to be there for them.. this is all a terrible tragedy to blame the Salt Lake City Police Department And not hold Ryan Troy Cooke responsible for his actions is just wrong. Eric would not blame the police department. Eric was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Eric has at least 2 girlfriends that I know of. Neither of which live in Elko Nevada. 1 he was with at the time of this tragedy and the other received a text message from him at 245 a.m. the morning of the accident. As there are broken hearts within his immediate family there a broken hearts outside of it as well. I spoke with his high school and so many of them are crushed too. there are so many great stories about Eric. While we all hop.e and pray for the best the reality is that it's just not gonna happen. The Lord is calling Eric home unfortunately. God bless Eric Peterson and God bless all who love him.

My daughter went to high school with Eric. I always like him, such a nice kid. What makes me sad in this whole story is that the whole time I knew Eric he was in Foster Care, where were his parents then? Seems like they are seeking money not justice. This was a terrible "accident," not a time to get rich. I pray that Eric recovers and leads a successful life!

I work at Queenstake, where Eric is employed. Whether you knew of him, or personally, his infecious smile would light up a room. There is a lingering sadness in all departments, with Eric not here. This is a wrong place/wrong time incident that did not need to happen. Eric had no choice in his fait, as where the some of the others did... I hope as well that justise is served, as so many peoples lives have now been changed for life.. To Eric and his family, know that there are so many prayers, and good wishes coming your way from the Queenstake family. God bless you all

My heart goes out to Erics Family. Eric works for me in Elko and he is one of the nicest kind men I have met in a long time. It just breaks my heart to se not only a fellow worker but a freind in this condition due to a drunk kid an gung ho cops..maybe we as a society should start looking at remote ways to shut off all vehicles in the event of something like this and make it law in all cars so this can be prevented in the future..
