Madi Palmer is a 16-year-old Junior at Cottonwood High School. She swims and plays water polo and will be wearing the same dress, every day during the month of November.
Madi is doing this to raise awareness for the organization "Child Rescue". Last summer a group called the Backyard Broadcast got twenty high school students together for a week-long summit. They learned about the issues of human trafficking and child sexual exploitation. They heard from law enforcement from all over the country and heard from survivors from the sex slave trade.
Child Rescue says this is the second largest organized crime in America. The average age of girls involved is thirteen and 95% of the population is unaware this is going on.
After the conference, the twenty kids who were involved in it started clubs at their schools called the Backyard Broadcast. They are spreading awareness and raising funds for police training.
Four of the clubs are in Utah at Cottonwood (Madi's club), Davis, Alta and West Jordan High Schools.
