SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - There is now yet another strange twist in the Susan Powell mystery.

This weekend, on her husband's website, a hand-drawn happy birthday card was posted, one apparently drawn by her children.

Dr. Douglas Goldsmith, the Executive Director of the Utah Children’s Center told ABC 4 News:

"It's a difficult picture to interpret."

But he also quickly added,

"Children's drawings give us an idea about what's going on inside of their heart and inside of their brain."

One of the first things Dr. Goldsmith noticed about this drawing is that it looks like 2 drawings.

He says it looks like one drawing on top, another on bottom, possibly drawn by different people.

Goldsmith also says,

"Typically, they will draw a story in their pictures. It's not just here's a picture but here's what this person's feeling, here's what's going on in this story."

Goldsmith was also drawn to the one person in the picture.

The doctor strongly believes children draw images like this one for specific reasons.

"These are not just simple little squiggles that we may make as adults. A child is saying this is important to me, this means something."

Goldsmith also believes that various objects can mean several things.

But he can't be sure unless he talks to the artist who drew them.

However, he did point out that children's pictures often express what their words are not yet able to do.

“Art, when we're looking at a pre-school age child or slightly older is a profound method of expression that we never take lightly."

This picture was drawn and published in connection with Susan Powell's 29th birthday Saturday.

The one year anniversary of her disappearance is now just a few weeks away.

Along the ideas of interpretation, I see a tombstone like cartoon character that has confusion or disarray circling its head. Underneath this character is what resembles a heart. And to the lower left of this picture I see an exclamation point.
