DUI suspect involved in fatal motorcycle crash

LINDON, Utah (ABC 4 News) - One person was killed and another injured after a crash involving a suspected intoxicated driver Friday morning.

The Utah Highway Patrol said the crash happened Friday at around 1:09 a.m. on Interstate 15 near Lindon.

UHP troopers say two people were on the motorcycle when it was hit.

Troopers say the passenger was thrown from the Kawasaki motorcycle, was then run over by other cars and died at the scene.

The UHP says the motorcycle driver was taken to a hospital in Provo with non-life threatening injuries, while the driver of a Mitsubishi Galant was arrested and booked on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence of Drugs or alcohol.

The man who was killed in the crash was later identified as 31-year-old Juan Ernesto Salazar Conce from Orem. Troopers say Conce was wearing a helmet.

The motorcycle driver was identified as 23-year-old Irving Tellez Acevedo from Spanish Fork, who was also wearing a helmet.

The driver was identified as 27-year-old Tyler Ren Young from Provo. Troopers say Young was not injured in the crash.
