I say sign the bill no different than our open carry now, or maybe everyone who is legal and computation should start open carrying and see how much people realy get uncomfortable and cry out. If you chose not exercise your rights fine, don't try and be a dictator and stop me from my rights

It is already legal for unloaded firearms to be carried they just have to be visible. This just allows someone to conceal the unloaded firearm. It won't do away with the concealed carry permit. Under this bill you would still be prohibited from carrying on buses, trains, or within 1000 feet of a school without a concealed carry permit.

This is the WORST bill ever! Unloaded means no shell in the chamber but, the gun IS loaded! This state must be crazy over guns....we NEED better background checks & permits ensure that the users DO have a bit of knowledge about handling the weapon. Even underage children have to take gun safety classes before hunting....a PERMIT guarantees that at least they DID get a modicum of training before heading out with their hidden weapon! PLEASE VETO THE BILL!

Did 3915sam just advocate murdering any politician who votes for this law? If so, doesn't that constitute a terroristic threat, which means the poster should be put on the list of people who should be prevented from possessing a firearm? Look at this quote, taken from the last part of his post: "If a purpose of the 2nd Amendment is to protect us from an evil and murderous tyrannical government, including elected Mormon Republican conspirators and accomplices in the killings of our loved ones, then it is our duty to stop and punish them with our own guns -- including killing them for killing our loved ones." Wow. Should the police be investigating that threat?

Utah's overwhelming Mormon/Republican legislature just successfully passed a bill which allows anyone to carry a concealed gun without a background check or permit as long as there is no bullet actually in the chamber, although the person can be otherwise carrying as much ammo as he/she wants. Of course, this is just another example of how Mormon Republican elected officials are complete lackeys for the ever-greedier, thieving, amoral filthy-rich in general, including those filthy-rich in the gun industry whose only goal is to maximize their profits by maximizing sales of guns, gun accessories and ammo without restrictions of any kind regardless of the resulting mass carnage and death. This bill is now awaiting Utah Governor Gary Herbert's signature. We all know he wants to and would have voted for it if he was still in the state legislature. I urge Governor Herbert to now sign this bill into law. Then, when someone's loved one is killed because of this law or the failure to pass and enforce other common sense gun restrictions, that person has the right to individually bring those Mormon Republican elected officials to justice -- since true justice will be prevented in our perverted official judicial system also controlled by Republicans. If a purpose of the 2nd Amendment is to protect us from an evil and murderous tyrannical government, including elected Mormon Republican conspirators and accomplices in the killings of our loved ones, then it is our duty to stop and punish them with our own guns -- including killing them for killing our loved ones.

I do not understand how they could pass this and not a medicare for those who need it. All this session did was prove what Utah really cares about. Not the people or their safety.

Does this dimwitted Senator realize they can do that now? It will just be against the law? If they plan on breaking those laws, why wouldn't they break all the laws? Oh, cause that is the MAGIC ONE! It's just the law abiding citizens won't be allowed to protect themselves with their LEGALLY concealed weapons.
