SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Police say a man robbed a South Jordan shoe store at gun point and pistol whipped a female employee on Thursday.

According to South Jordan Police Lt. Dan Starks, a middle aged man walked into the Payless Shoe Source store inside The District shopping center at 11511 South Parkway Plaza Drive and demanded cash.

Starks says the suspect pistol whipped a female employee and left the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The employee was treated for a split lip at the scene and was released by emergency personnel.

Starks said employees described the suspect as a heavy white man in his 50s, wearing a dark cap and glasses.
