LOGAN, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A Cache County man has been arrested and charged with the rape of a 18-year-old woman at a public park.
According to Cache County prosecutor Tony Baird, 22-year-old Alex Reymundo Ulibarri was booked into the Cache County Jail and charged in Logan's First District Court in association with an alleged rape of a woman on January 30th.
According to Baird, Ulibarri met the alleged victim at a public park in Providence and tried to kiss her.
Baird said the victim claims she adamantly resisted Ulibarri's advances, but that the suspect grabbed her by the neck and forced her into a park restroom, where he repeatedly choked her removed her clothing, eventually raping her.
Baird said that the alleged victim reported the incident after going to a local hospital for treatment.
According to Baird, the alleged victim showed signs of bruising around her neck and genitalia.
According to Baird, the victim claimed Ulibarri asked her, "Have you ever been raped before?"
Ulibarri was brought in for an interview with Cache County Sheriff's Office investigators, who eventually arrested him and booked him into jail.
Baird said Ulibarri was charged with First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, because he allegedly used threat of death or serious bodily injury during the assault.
Baird said the suspect and alleged victim knew each other and had dated a few years before.
