Supplies
1 shephard's hook finding (bookmark)
6 mm jumprings
charms
3" piece of chain (charm bracelet type gage - to easily attach charms and beads)
beads
head pins (3/4" to 1" length)
tools - round nose plyers, flat nose plyers, metal cutters
Instructions
Photo 1:
Attach chain, about 1/3 from end, to bookmark with a jump ring. Open jump ring using both sets of pliers by twisting, and close in same manner. You should end up with two smaller lengths of chain to attach charms and beads to.
Photo 2:
Create simple loops on beads by stringing single bead onto head pin, bending head pin over at top of bead, and using round nose plyers to make loop. Do this for all beads.
Photo 3:
Attach all charms to chain in desired increments. Because the charms don't have a loop that can open, you need to use jump rings to attach.
Photo 4:
Attach beads to chain in desired increments between charms. Slightly open (by twisting, like jump rings) the simple loop you created on each bead to slip onto chain, and close to attach beads.
Enjoy your new beaded bookmark! Have fun and use personal preferences in colors, charms, and styles. They really are a great motivator to read this summer!
