SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Salt Lake police tell ABC 4 one person may be behind six recent robberies in the Sugar House area. Police need your help to find them, before they get hungry for more.

Ice cream, yogurt, scones and movies, that's the appetite of an armed robber hitting stores in Sugar House. Several times the robber orders something first.

"When the worker is distracted, they then produce a handgun and demand money," said Sgt. Shawn Josephson, Salt Lake Police Dept.

Police believe the same person may have recently robbed the Red Mango 1511 E. 2100 S., Baskin Robbins 1465 E. 2100 S., the Yogurt Stop 2153 E. 2100 S., Movies 10 2227 S. Highland Dr., Sconecutter 2100 S. State St., and Alchemy Coffee 17th S. 4th E. So far police don't know if the robber is a man or a woman, but that's actually helping investigators link the crimes together.

"Most people have indicated it is a male until this person spoke and then they described the voice as a female," said Josephson.

One of the victims of this he/she robber said it was a frightening experience.

"I thought I was safe coming to work, now I'm not so sure," said Ashley Jewel, Yogurt Stop employee.

Police are afraid of what happens the next time this robber gets hungry.

"It just takes one more bad decision to create something even worse than a robbery when someone is injured or killed," said Josephson.

Here's are a description of who police are looking for -

Police tell ABC 4 the robber is between 5'8" - 5'11", with a thin/medium build, shoulder length brown hair, and a high pitched voice.

If this person sounds familiar to you call Salt Lake Police at 799-3000.
