Hundreds of warm, cute honey bunnies seek loving homes!

The kneaders and bakers of Great Harvest create Honey Bunnies using their signature whole grain Honey Whole Wheat Bread recipe. They are made from only five simple ingredients without additives, preservatives or dough conditioners. It’s just freshly ground whole wheat flour, yeast, water, salt and honey.

“This is a Great Harvest tradition we look forward to every spring,” says bakery owner Nan Washburn. “The expressions on children’s faces are priceless, and it’s fun to hear about all the ways our customers use the Honey Bunnies as table centerpieces, as veggie dip bowls, or as a creative addition to an Easter basket. To us, our handmade bread rabbits signify spring and fun family gatherings.”

According to Washburn, no two bunnies are quite the same. The artisans at Great Harvest handcraft each bunny. It takes time, care and creativity. This month, the Salt Lake area bakeries anticipate creating upwards of 1,000 Honey Bunnies.

The Honey Bunnies aren’t the only time that healthy whole grains take the limelight. Each day bakers freshly grind premium Montana wheat berries into whole wheat flour. The fresh ground, whole wheat flour is used to bake breads, cinnamon rolls, cookies, and other sweet treats.

Great Harvest’s made-from-scratch whole grain breads provide excellent sources of complex carbohydrates, have no fat or cholesterol, and have been proven to be stars in weight control and disease prevention. USDA health guidelines encourage Americans to eat three servings of whole grains every day.

To adopt a Honey Bunny for your Easter celebration, simply place an order with your local Great Harvest.
