SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Two Box Elder County boys remained hospitalized on Monday, following an incident involving the ignition of a gas can the found on the way home from school last Thursday.

Officials say one boy remained in critical condition and the other was in fair condition at the University of Utah hospital Burn Center.

The incident included five boys, ranging in age from 7 to 10 who were on their way home from a Perry elementary school when they encountered the gas can.

Three other  boys were rushed to the University hospital and already released. A fifth boy was hospitalized elsewhere and released.

The cause of the gad can ignition was still under investigation.
