SANDY (ABC 4 Sports) - Today, social media rules the world. So players on RSL decided to start their own Twitter craze.  And if you've been on Twitter lately, there's a pretty good chance you've come across a tweet from someone on Real Salt Lake.

"It's been fun," RSL defender Chris Wingert said. "It's fun for us especially when we're on the road joking around on there."

It all started when master tweeter, midfielder Andy Williams, began recruiting his teammates.

"Everyone is jumping on," Williams said. "Follow the leader, I guess."

"He might be a Twitter spokesperson," RSL midfielder Arturo Alvarez added. "He's done a good job getting people on."

So when is head coach Jason Kreis going to hop on board the Twitter bandwagon?

"I don't know if that's his thing," Wingert said.

"I guess I'm still old school," Kreis said with a smile.

Any chance Williams could lure in coach?

"No chance," Kreis added. "In the words of Andy Williams, and he says it a lot, no chance."

As for who has the most followers.....

"I don't keep track of that," Williams said.

"I don't have many, close to 2,000," Alvarez added.

Well, turns out, it's Kyle Beckerman who leads the way with 4,508 followers. What about who has the best Tweets?

"Definitely me," Williams said.

"It's gotta be either Andy or Nick Rimando," Alvarez said. "They go to PKs on that."

And just because Kreis isn't on Twitter doesn't mean he never takes a peek to see what his players are up to.

"I've started to want to pay attention," Kreis said with a smile. "So let that be known to all the players, coach is watching."

Up next, the Facebook revolution.

"Another social media thing, I'm already on there," goalkeeper Nick Rimando added.
