Lone Peak, Highland, Wasatch Academy win state championships

OGDEN (ABC 4 Sports) - The high school basketball season has officially come to a close following the 5A, 4A and 1A state championship games on Saturday afternoon.  Lone Peak is your new champion in 5A while Highland takes the title down in 4A and Wasatch Academy claims the gold in 1A.

The Knights (24-1) beat American Fork 64-52.  Nick Emery scored 20 points while Talon Shumway and Brody Berry combined for 29 points.  This marks LP's 3rd state championship in the last five years and its first since 2008.  Quincy Bair led the way for the Cavemen with 20 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals.

In 4A, the Rams (22-3) take out the Braves (20-6) of Bountiful 48-42.  David Divver scored a team-high ten points.  Lew Evans, Nate Fakahafua and Sam Orchard all chipped in 9 points a piece.

Wasatch Academy is your 1A champion.  This marks the Tigers' first-ever state title in boys basketball behind a triple double from senior point guard Evaldas Aniulis.  He dropped 13 points, 13 boards and dished out 15 assists in the 84-47 win over region rival Liahona.  Jarryn Skeete went for 37 points and junior Fred Krajacic scored 21 points.
