SALT LAKE CITY (ABC-4 Sports) - Kyle Korver said he's known for a month that he was not going to opt out of the final year of his contract with the Jazz. But because his agent advised him to keep quiet, Korver went along with it and waited until the day before the deadline to tell the Jazz.

Korver will earn 5.2 million dollars this season, and unless he signs an extension, he'll become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2009-2010 season. For now, Korver says he's happy to be back and will worry about free agency later.

He's also very happy Carlos Boozer and Mehmet Okur both decided to play out the final year of their contracts and keep the corp of the Jazz together for one more deep playoff run. Korver said he was in contact with Boozer regularly to keep tabs on what he was going to do.

Although he knows some Jazz fans are disappointed in Boozer's decision, Korver says this gives the Jazz their best chance to go far next season. He also hopes the Jazz decide to match whatever offer restricted free agent Paul Millsap receives.

Coming off wrist surgery, Korver says he feels great and is shooting the ball with more confidence now. In fact he's feeling so good, Korver, who carries about a six handicap, will play in next week's Utah State Amateur Golf Tournament.
