SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 Sports) - Multiple media outlets are reporting that Kevin O'Connor has accepted a top executive position with the Jazz while Dennis Lindsey has been hired on as Utah's new general manager.  On Monday night, the Utah Jazz have called a Tuesday morning news conference to announce the front-office change.

Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski was first to report the news.  Brian T. Smith of the Salt Lake Tribune later confirmed the move.

O'Connor, 63, is one of the most respected GMs in the league.  He will apparently move into a top executive position with the Jazz, moving away from the day-to-day tasks of the GM job.  However, he'll still keep a strong hand in directing the organization, Wojnarowski reports.  O'Connor has led basketball operations in Utah since 1999.

He orchestrated the 2011 trade that sent star point guard Deron Williams to the Nets rather than deal with his impending free agency.

The Jazz have made the playoffs nine times in the 13 seasons since KOC took over.  They were swept out of the playoffs by the Spurs in the first round this year

Lindsey comes from San Antonio where's he's been the assistant general manager for the Spurs since 2007.
