Hurricane, Snow Canyon claim 3A state titles

ST. GEORGE, Utah (ABC 4 Sports) - The Hurricane High School boys basketball team came from behind to beat Desert Hills to win the 3A state championship. This is the Tigers first state title since 1982.

Boston Gubler scored all eight of his points in the second half, including the go-ahead layup with 2:29 left in the 4th quarter. Gubler also hit two clutch free throws with 16 seconds left to seal the victory. Colton Marshall added 14 points for Hurricane. Tyler Ott led the Thunder with 12 points.

The Snow Canyon girls team defeated Region 9 rival Desert Hills, 50-47, to win the 3A title. Amy Harris scored 11 of her game-high 20 points to lead the Warriors to their first championship in 14 years. Haley Bodner led Desert Hills with 14 points.
