It's the poetry of everyday people.  That's what the new KUED documentary Street Vets is.  The filmmaker and writer of the film go On the Record to talk about these stories, and what is going on with the homeless veterans in Utah.

Writer James Findlay says that "every individual has a different story."  They have different backgrounds pre-war, but once they go into battle, "they're changed forever.  I love to be able to feel what these people are feeling."

"My motive in this wasn't to place the blame on anybody," says filmmaker Isaac Goeckeritz.  "But I think my motive is that we have to have patience.  People can change, and when people are in these circumstances, we still need to help them."

"This is the most important battle of their lives, they're still fighting it," says Findlay.

At the end of the film, you get to see where these men are now, and you get to see that some of them have change and are turning their lives around.
