Though only in elected office for a week now, those who were inaugurated at the first of 2011 are already getting down to business. And District Attorney Sim Gill is one of those people. He goes On the Record to talk about his job and what he's already doing.
"I love the district attorney's office," says Gill. "I'm very satisfied with the position that I hold."
And he's already gotten to work. He's working on implementing early case resolution which helps to take the cases the want resolved more quickly and be able to get them out promptly.
"The goal is to reduce case load," but Gill says it does mean more work.
But he says that his "goal is to get the people that work there [in the District Attorney's office] involved in there office." Gill says that everyone has a part to play, and he hopes to encourage their participation.
But Gill says he recognizes where the office he holds comes from. He says he's grateful to be elected, "but it's not my office. It belongs to the people of Salt Lake County."
