Even though he's no longer in office, Bob Bennett is still very much a part of the political scene. In this segment, Bennett goes On the Record to talk about the 2012 Presidential Election.
It can be assumed that everyone knows who the Democratic nominee will be be, but the Republican nominee will be is still very much up in the air.
Bennett says that he's assuming Mitt Romney will run again. He's talked to Romney, but says Mitt hasn't even decided yet. But overall in Washington, he's hearing a lot of Governor names being tossed around as potential nominees.
"Sarah Palin? Who knows what she is going to do," Bennett says.
And here in Utah, we're even hearing rumors about former Governor Jon Huntsman running. Bennett says that "he's telegenic, he certainly would have credentials in foreign policy. Anyone that has anything to do with him, or comes across him," says he's a really straight shooter.
But Bennett says if he was advising Huntsman, he thinks 2016 would be a better shot.
