It's not winter yet, but if you step outside in the early morning hours, it sure feels like it.  According to the calendar for 2009, the winter solstice arrives in Utah on December 21 at 10:47am.  It's an easy day for me to remember, because the winter solstice is also my wedding anniversary.  This time of year can look like winter with snow last Saturday and more on the way this Saturday.  Our mountains and ski resorts all have snow and the temperatures are cold enough to make snow as well.  But, if you want to get really technical, we are still in fall, even with temperatures like this morning in the single digits, teens and twenties.  So, enjoy what's left of fall, winter will soon be here, and it may look alot like it this weekend with our next storm system.  Stay tuned and stay warm.
