COALVILLE, Utah (AP) - Sheriff's officials say a man struck by lightning while hiking near Amethyst Lake is in critical condition.
The Summit County Sheriff's Office says the man was hit during a hike Saturday at about 5 p.m. The Deseret News reports that the man was not identified.
Amethyst is about a day hike from Christmas Meadows.
Last week, a 24-year-old
man and his dog were killed after being struck by lightning during a fishing trip on a lake on Boulder Mountain.
