MURRAY, Utah (ABC 4 News) – The Labor Day weekend is upon us. For many it’s the end of summer, but is it too soon to be talking snow? Not according to snow lovers across the valley. With the crisp in the air they are thinking winter, now.

Chad Johnson is a Utah boy who loves winter. He talked about his love affair with skiing, “I love skis, and I love being out there and the freedom it provides me."

But you’re probably thinking, it’s only September!

One of the signs ski season is on its way, the Sniagrab!

Rich Kohler from Sports Authority summed it up, “Big ski event. Bargain spelled backwards!”

Sports Authority has held this kick off sale for 57 years now. Getting Utah’s winter lovers equipped for the upcoming season.

Kohler said, “Ski resorts have been advertising their ticket sales. We come in with the product and you know people start thinking of fall and snow again. It's traditionally the big kick off.”

But will the people come? Apparently, yes.

Lambert Deegan said, “It's September and I’m watching ski movies!”

Chad Johnson said, “It’s never too early to start thinking about winter.”

Kohler said, “I live for it! It's the best time of the year.”

The people are ready. The gear is available. What about the resorts? While there isn’t much snow, they are ready too. Local resorts are already selling passes and if you want to be at the resort all winter, they are hiring.

But for all of you out there who aren’t ready for snow. Don’t worry; we have a few more dry weeks.
