DAVIS COUNTY, UT (ABC 4 News) - Hurricane force winds caused damage to many homes and trees in Kayesville and other parts of Davis County Thursday.

High winds were responsible for toppling a massive pine tree onto the house of Kunthea Kelly. She said her 13-year-old daughter was home alone at the time.

"It's crazy, I've never seen anything like this before," Kelly said.

Her daughter, Noel, was watching television inside the house when the tree fell. She felt the house shake. Kelly said she is thankful her daughter was not injured.

"In my mind all I could do was pray," Kelly said.

The storm was also responsible for damages to several Davis County homes.

Rachel Gilbert's house was damaged by high winds. The winds were strong enough to peel back the aluminum siding on her house.

"I've never been in a wind storm this bad ever," Gilbert said. "It was pretty scary. The whole house was shaking."

Crews will work in the next several days to clean up debris. Neighbors have also gathered to lend helping hands to those in need of assistance, due to the damage.
