SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - This Sunday - "Sister Wives" - a television reality show that started in Utah kicks off a new season on TLC. And Monday morning Cody Brown and his four wives were on Good Morning America talking about their lives and their new book.
During the GMA interview the family - Cody, Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn - joked around about the emotional and difficult decisions they have had to make in their lives. Cody Brown said, "I think we are going to have a match of rock, paper, scissors to make decisions because it has been so rigorous and intense." Cody also spent a good portion of the interview talking about bringing his family of 18 children and four wives closer together. "I want to be able to see all of my wives and all of my children every single day."
The family left Utah last year and moved to Nevada. When they did that they decided to move into separate homes. Cody says the physical separation is is also causing a psychological separation. "We just need to have the family closer together - so our family identity can be made stronger."
The polygamist family also has just released a new book - a memoir about their lives together entitled, "Becoming Sister Wives: The Story of an Unconventional Marriage."
They told GMA it is full of details about their lives together. Janelle says, "One of the reasons we wrote the book is to show the process and that its not just about Christine and Robyn. We are all working on our relationships."
All of the sister wives - except for Janelle - have been raised in polygamist families. The show Sister Wives can be seen Sunday night on TLC.
